MMS Annual Fund

At MMS, like most private schools, we choose to budget a difference between what our program costs and full tuition. For MMS, that delta is around $3,869 per student, and the Annual Fund is how we close that gap. It may seem counterintuitive, but the larger the gap, the more accessible we are.

Why do we subscribe to this odd financial model? One very big reason. We fundraise more and raise tuition less, so an MMS education is accessible to a broader range of students and families.

Your gift helps make MMS an exceptional environment for our children. Tuition Assistance, highly trained teachers, quality classroom materials, and beautiful landscapes are all supported by your contributions.

The Tuition Gap is $3,869 per student and Annual Fund contributions range from $5 to $100,000, encompassing a wide spectrum of giving. We invite every member of our community to contribute as generously as possible by making a gift that feels significant to them. 

Your support, no matter the level, is managed judiciously and deeply valued. The Annual Fund is our most critical fundraising program as each dollar raised is used for a planned expense during the current school year including our Tuition Assistance program. This emphasis on immediate impact makes the Annual Fund our cornerstone fundraising effort.

Marin Montessori School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (#94-1567656) and gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

• By phone or email: Please contact the development office at 415-924-5388 x 331 or send a note to  Shree Starkman, Director of Development and Community Engagement to make your gift or pledge. Your pledge payments can be completed by check or via your MMS account as a one-time payment or installment plan.

• Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities are gladly accepted. Please contact the development office for information.

• Matching gifts: Many employers have matching gift programs that allow employees' gifts to be matched, often 1:1. Please ask your employer(s) about their program guidelines and inform the school that your gift will be matched at the time of your donation.

• Bequests: For more information about including Marin Montessori in your estate plans, please contact the development office.

Every contribution to the Annual Fund supports MMS’ operating budget to bridge the tuition gap per student. Donors have the opportunity to allow the school to apply the funds to the area of greatest need or direct their gift to an area that most aligns with their interests and values:
