Parents' Association

The Good Works committee is how our families give back. We organize community service drives and volunteer days, helping to nurture compassion and teach our children social responsibility.

Key drives include the annual Diaper Drive in the fall, which provides tangible help to local families, and the Backpack Supply Drive in the spring, which equips Bay Area children for the new school year.

The Outdoor Adventure committee organizes family-friendly hikes and local excursions for all ages. By facilitating shared time outdoors, we help families connect with nature and with each other beyond the classroom walls.

Join us to organize walks and trips that build community and foster discovery. Join the Outdoor Adventure WhatsApp group to connect with other outdoor enthusiasts and stay up to date on PA organized adventures.

The Event Provisions committee supports the food and beverage offerings across all PA events. Their most important role is preparing the biannual Crew Appreciation Lunches, where parents honor our extraordinary Crew (teachers and staff).

This team helps cultivate gratitude and belonging by ensuring events are welcoming and inclusive, showcasing the cultural richness of our community.

Join us by volunteering on the Fall Festival committee! Each autumn, we transform our campus into a vibrant celebration with music, crafts, and food.

Volunteers shape every detail from planning engaging activities and setting up décor to warmly welcoming families, creating a joyful space where children and adults alike can connect and celebrate the season.

The Spring Fling committee plans our annual spring gathering on the Junior High campus. Families from every level come together for a day filled with book swaps, pony rides, and spring-themed activities for all ages.

We start the year with a warm welcome on the first morning of school. Parents (new and returning) gather over coffee on the Big Field with Head of School Sam Shapiro, reconnecting after summer and meeting new friends. 
 

Early in the fall, the PA supports the reception following our classroom presentations. This adults-only evening invites parents to: 

• A warm welcome from Sam Shapiro, Head of School 
• Classroom presentations where you’ll meet your child’s teacher (Guide), explore the Montessori materials, and get a window into their daily experience
• Dinner and drinks follow on the Big Field: a chance to connect with fellow parents and Crew in a festive setting, strengthening the sense of shared community right from the start.
   

A beloved MMS tradition, Fall Festival is a joyous autumn carnival free for the whole school community. On this Saturday morning, our campus transforms with seasonal games, crafts, music, our Junior High Micro-Economy, and harvest-themed fun. All ages are welcome to this sweet event.

Gratitude is a cornerstone of Marin Montessori School’s culture. Twice a year, parents host our Crew Appreciation Lunches, honoring the remarkable faculty and staff who care for our children every day.

Parents contribute dishes for a beautiful potluck meal and create a warm, welcoming space for our teachers and staff (Crew). Every contribution matters, whether it’s cooking a dish, helping set up, or simply washing and returning dishes after the event is done. 

Each spring, MMS families gather on our Junior High campus for Spring Fling, a joyful celebration of connection and community. Parents and children enjoy book swaps, pony rides, spring crafts, outdoor games, and sweet moments of togetherness.
