The Farm at MMS Junior High isn't just a garden; it's a living classroom, complete with roaming chickens and our very own Nigerian goats!
As Maria Montessori believed, "Work on the land is an introduction both to nature and to civilization and gives a limitless field for scientific and historic studies." Our farm brings that vision to life across a full acre, with a barn, hoop house, animal paddock, apiary, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, an orchard, and pollinator habitats; a working farm laboratory!
All of this takes a community to maintain — and that's where you come in.
We're inviting all MMS families to sign up for a weekend farm chore. Give 30 minutes, and in return, slow down, get your hands in the dirt, and reconnect with nature. Volunteers are always welcome to collect and take home fresh eggs and produce, and stay as long as you like!
