The Gather for Good Edible Education Series
MMS Little Farm
May 2, 12:00 PM-4:00 PM
Unfortunately, reservations and the waitlist for this event are both FULL. For more exciting Edible Education Series events, please visit The Gather for Good website here.
Join us for a hands-on, boots-required, cowboy-hat-optional kind of day at the Marin Montessori School “Little Farm” experience. Families of all ages–especially our younger students–will thoroughly enjoy this tour led by Farm Manager Kate Stout and members of our Junior High Micro-Economy Class. We’ll explore the projects, experiences, and animals that make our Junior High campus so special.
Children will engage their senses during the one-hour program. Begin your tour at the Bay Garden with an in-depth look at our student-built aquaponics system, chock full of fish. Next, listen for bees as you explore Apiculture (beekeeping), and hold some of our newest fuzzy friends, baby chicks! The final stop is Creekside Farm where you’ll say hello, or “bah, moo, cluck, and meow,” to our friendly lambs, cows, chickens, and playful barn cats.
No MMS event is complete without the opportunity to engage in follow-up! After the tour, show us what you learned and express your creativity with a beeswax candle craft led by our fantastic Parents Association.
