Marin Montessori School Alumni Connection Dear Montessori School Alumni Community,
This past Saturday, we hosted our first in-person gathering with a handful of current MMS families. The energy and joy of seeing one another again was palpable! I truly believe that there is something special and unique about being part of the Marin Montessori School community. The families that are attracted to our beautiful and nature-rich school are humble, authentic, curious, and intentional. Our Montessori families come from a range of backgrounds and experiences, and just like our students, each family becomes an essential and valued member of the community. It was this sense of belonging that struck me on Saturday, and it is an experience that I hope we can share more of over the next year. It is my goal to provide more and more opportunities for our Montessori community to feel connected with the school and with each other. I encourage you to join us this Friday to participate in Part 6 of our Edible Education Series, featuring an alum family, the Meehans! The details and registration link are below.
Lastly, I want to personally invite you to join us in person on June 5, 2021, for our Gather for Good: An Edible Education with Alice Waters. It would be a pleasure to welcome you back and an opportunity for you to enjoy a spectacular evening amongst friends, old and new.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions regarding our upcoming virtual event this Friday, or regarding our in-person event on June 5.
With warmth and gratitude,
Carolyn Woolf Director of Strategic Initiatives
Marin Montessori School Presents an Edible Education Series In the months leading up to The Gather, we hope you will enjoy this series of community events designed to inspire, inform, and strengthen our commitment to food equity and sustainable agriculture. Part 6: Climate Change and Coffee Friday, May 14, at 6:30 PM
Join us for a lecture with Dr. Elizabeth Shapiro-Garza, Associate Professor of the Practice of Environmental Policy and Management at Duke University (and our head of school, Sam Shapiro's, big sister), on climate change and the future of the coffee industry. Alumni parent Bryan Meehan, Exec Chair of Blue Bottle Coffee, will join the discussion to share the unique challenges Blue Bottle faces as a pioneer in environmental sustainability; as he and his three daughters demonstrate how to brew the perfect cup. Caffeine not required!
This is a free community event and all are welcome. Zoom details to follow.
