Head of School WHY WE GIVE What inspires you about a Marin Montessori education? We love the 3-hour work periods: uninterrupted, deep dives that have given Noam and Beatrix the time, space, and peace to explore, research, and create without limit. This has not only fostered incredible retention and learning, but has fostered deep learning in a no-anxiety creative environment. They are not compared to their peers, timed, or held up as examples. There are no rewards for 'best of.' They are, within essential boundaries, simply allowed to 'be,' which creates a loving community, exceptional learning, and remarkable young people. Why have you chosen to give back to our community by being an Annual Fund Class Captain? At Marin Montessori, we have seen the life-changing effects of a Montessori education in our children. It is our absolute honor and privilege to say 'yes' to every request! And especially as Annual Fund Captains because of the very practical and essential way each of our donated dollars literally keeps the school open. We can't imagine life without Marin Montessori School. Our kids would not be as comfortable in their own skin. They wouldn't even know their own skin. What is one thing you would like to share with families who may not be familiar with the MMS Relief & Annual Fund? Only give what you can! For our family, some years we were only able to give a little. Some years more. But even $25, $50 makes a difference. It really does.
A Note from the MMS Head of School Dear MMS Community,
One of our commitments to you, our families, and supporters, is to lead with transparency and accountability. As a result, we voluntarily hire an independent auditor to audit MMS' financials every year. I am compelled to share with you some of the highlights from this year's clean audit, the first being that MMS has always received clean audits. Additionally:
Your participation really matters: This year we need to raise $925,000 to meet the financial challenges brought on by the global pandemic. We are humbled to share that already the larger MMS community has raised $435,000. This leaves a meaningful delta we will continue to strive to fill. Our individual community members' financial capacities vary. The socio-economic diversity of MMS is one of our strengths. Our greatest strength is our engaged community. No matter the size of your gift, stepping up and stretching to contribute to MMS' health and sustainability is a vote of support and confidence in our work with children and adolescents. Show your care and let it be known. Please join us. Every contribution helps.
