  • Upper Elementary Civil War Trip and Presentation

Dressed in navy "uniforms" and red bandanas, 25 Upper Elementary children marched onto Angel Island on January 17 to relive the life of Civil War Union soldiers. As their Living History project, the students divided into groups led by a captain. Each group studied an aspect of the Civil War and presented it to the class before embarking on their overnight tour of duty. Afterwards, they shared their experiences with MMS parents, students and friends, including a taste of hard tack (worm-infested bread without the worms). Click here to view the photo gallery.
