Tuition Assistance – 2012/2013 School Year

Dear Parents,

Though it seems we have just begun this year of classes, it is time to begin planning for the 2012/2013 academic year, and for Tuition Assistance. Marin Montessori School will again be able to offer our regular Tuition Assistance program as well as a Short Term Tuition Relief Program.

Confidentiality is a fundamental element of our Tuition Assistance programs. Preservation of confidentiality is the responsibility of all participants in the program, both the TA Committee and the families that are applying for benefits. All information relating to your application will be handled in a secure and confidential manner. We ask that you not discuss your application with faculty, staff, or board members of MMS. In this way, we can maintain this confidentiality for everyone.

MMS uses the services of SSS (School and Student Services for Financial Aid) to process our Tuition Assistance applications. SSS is a service that provides an objective and consistent method of determining a family's ability to contribute to educational expenses.

All applications are now being processed online; we can no longer accept paper applications. If this causes a hardship for your family, please call me for assistance. The online process will hopefully make it easier for you to apply, while enabling us to address your needs in a much more timely fashion.

The process for submitting your family's application is described more fully here. The SSS application fee is $37.00. Applications and necessary documents must be submitted to SSS by:

Award letters will be mailed to current MMS families along with Re-Enrollment Agreements in January.
