Marin Montessori School is a not-for-profit educational institution governed by a Board of Trustees that receives revenues from tuition and voluntary charitable contributions. The tradition of philanthropy at MMS has been nourished by past generations, and continues today with the financial support received from parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, foundations, corporations, and friends of the School. While the amounts given are voluntary, Marin Montessori School expects all families to participate. MMS is fortunate to have many supporters who give in many ways -- by making contributions and participating in fund-raising activities -- thus demonstrating their commitment in the education provided by Marin Montessori School.

Types of Gifts Many members of our community give generously in ways other than cash.
Matching Gifts Many employers offer a Matching Gift Program wherein they match a donor’s contribution—often they will even double or triple it. Please check with your employer to find out whether or not they have a Matching Gifts Program. Participating is usually a simple matter of providing us with your company’s matching gift form when you send in your own gift.
Gifts of Stock MMS accepts gifts of stock and securities through our brokerage account. Gifts of this type can be a helpful tax tool, since you can avoid paying the tax on the appreciated price of the stock, while providing a charitable contribution deduction for the current market value of the stock. Please consult your tax advisor for specific benefit information.
Gifts in Kind Many families at MMS give gifts in kind. These may include professional services such as printing or items such as computers or desks. Although gifts in kind are always appreciated, they do not replace the commitment of a gift to the Annual Fund. Please call the Development Office before making such a gift.
